Rosacea

Rosacea is a chronic skin condition that causes redness and pus-filled bumps to occur on the face. The exact cause of this condition is unknown, but factors that can irritate the skin include alcohol, spicy foods, stress and sunlight. People who are between the ages 30 and 60, have light skin, hair or eyes, experience frequent blushing and have a family history have increased chances of developing this skin condition. Signs and symptoms include redness to the face, small bumps, visible blood vessels on the nose and cheeks, burning and flushing. There are medications to help reduce these symptoms, such as oral medications and topical creams. It is advised to consult with a dermatologist to discuss the best treatment plan.
